I just finished Daria. I really missed that show. I was thrilled to see it on Hulu. Now, I'm working my way through Better Call Saul.

Due to work conflicts, I have been unable to actually stay for the meeting for the past few weeks. I miss my meetings, and I hope to go this week. Last time, I saw AW on the way inside the building. She nearly fell and dropped some of her things. I helped her pick them up. She thanked me and told me that she was so grateful to see a friendly face. Maybe she's just really lonely?  I am going to try to have more compassion for her.

I was doing fantastic this week and it all fell apart yesterday.  I had a lymph node biopsied and was stressed and mildly depressed so I dealt with it by eating half a package of double chocolate cookies and then my husband made nachos for dinner.  I weigh in tomorrow morning.  Hoping if I stay on track today the damage wont be too bad.
Yikes! ((Kimmers))

I think I only have the friends that I have because a few extroverts took pity on me and brought me into the herd. I'm terribly shy & awkward.

A bit scared to weigh myself tomorrow (I don't own a scale so only weigh at the gym.) I was doing really well this week until my partner surprised me with going out to dinner last night... can't turn down tiramisu so I had dessert too! Oh well... worth it. :)
Don't be scared. You'll know the truth, and you can go on from there.

Yay, Kimmers!
I am down about a 1.5 this week. My total is 9.6. I'm so close to my 10 pound charm that I can smell it.

Yesterday, I had a client show up unannounced. I didn't have anything pressing going on at the time so I worked her in. I told her to have a seat in the lobby while I prepped her things. When I came back to get her, she was really huffy. We finished up our transaction, and she finally let me have it. How dare I keep her waiting so long!  I am so rude! I patiently waited for her to finish her tirade. Then I told her that I usually don't take walk in clients because of the amount of prep work necessary. I made an exception because for her because I wanted to make sure she was taken care of as soon as possible. Next time, she can make an appointment. :P

I have my 3rd weigh in tomorrow.  I was lax on Sunday, but I got right back on track yesterday.  I'm actually proud of this.  I have let a minor setback become a HUGE backslide far too many times.  I didn't give up.  I picked myself up and moved on.  I can also say that I learned something interesting from my poor eating day. I immediately noticed that my feet were swelling & my fingers were stiff. These are symptoms that really bothered me before joining WW. While on WW, they have gotten better.  Today, things are mostly back to normal.
I hope everyone else is having a good week.

I'm reading Prairie Fires: The American Dreams of Laura Ingalls Wilder. She was my favourite author as a kid, and I'm really enjoying this deeper and less sanitized account of her life. Rose Wilder Lane is the absolute worst though.

Also reading The Truth About the Harry Quebert Affair. Good and funny!
I read that a few months ago.  There was lots of baggage in the Ingalls/Wilder family.

It's based on points. You use points for food and earn points for activities. You start with a certain amount of points and you have weekly points. Some foods have 0 points: white meat chicken, fish, most veggies, most fruits. Foods that are high in saturated fat, calories, and sugar have high points.
It sound weird, but it is effective.

I saw the suggestion of two teaspoons of fat free sugar free pudding instant powder mixed with a carton of FF Plain greek yogurt. I haven't tried it myself, but I'm going to do it this weekend. I found a product called chilly cow. I tried the vanilla graham, and it had good flavor & texture. It has a very similar mouth feel to ice cream.

I'd love a place to share food & exercise tips. I could use a place for hugs and hurrays.
Does anyone want to be a loser with me?
I'm doing Weight Watcher's Freestyle. I started going to the meetings a few weeks ago. As of this week, I'm down 8.2lbs.   :D

General Life / Wanting to be nice vs wanting to enjoy the meeting
« on: May 23, 2018, 05:51:32 pm »
I have been going to a local WW meeting for the past few weeks. Another woman (AW) joined the same day that I did. AW really enjoys going to the meetings, and she loves talking. She has something to add to nearly everything the group leader says. It's a constant distraction that seems to throw the group leader off of his agenda. I know I'm not the only one who has noticed how often AW inserts herself into the meeting; the group of women that sit behind me snicker whenever AW opens her mouth.

Being the new member, I feel awkward complaining about another member. OTOH This is a service that I pay for, and I want to hear the group leader talk about the topic of the week. AW is not a weight loss expert, and most of her comments are completely unnecessary.
I will add that other people share information during the meeting. Occasional sharing is great. I like learning new tricks and tips.

I guess I have a few choices:
I can talk to AW (not the choice I would prefer).
I can talk to the group leader.
I can attend a different meeting.
I can do nothing. The ladies behind me may say something.

What would you do?
