So, I've been gone a long time, so I thought I'd catch up. I have 2 boys now. My youngest will be starting kindergarten this fall.
The baby I had just had at the time of the mass banning will be in 3rd grade.
While pregnant with my 2nd, they found a tumor in my abdomen under my breast. I was extremely lucky, and though it was a cancer it was super easy to remove and hasn't come back.
Husband's heart finally decided it needed help. He ended up having 1 open heart surgery to repair a valve, and 4 others to put in a pacemaker, replace a pacemaker, and 2 ablations. He was in severe heart failure at one point. However, he recovered and about 6 months after the last surgery, the cardiologist told him that his heart is functioning as well as a person who has never had any heart procedures. He'll need to do pacemaker maintenance, but otherwise, he's in perfect heart health.
In the middle of son2 being born and DH having his open heart, we moved. We got an amazing deal on my dream home. I get to be a SAHM, and it seems like the really rough 6 years we had with his and my health problems are over, and we're finally onto some smooth sailing (knock on wood.) I even got his heart and my brain (student loans) paid off at the end of last year.
My MIL passed away in February, it was sudden but not exactly unexpected, we all knew that eventually she'd end up in the hospital and not come out, and she was in and out a lot the last few years.
My mom is doing great! Married a great guy I call "New Daddy" and they're enjoying being grandparents. My brother is still a giant sized manchild, though maybe now he's a manpreteen? Progress has been made, but not a whole lot.
So that's the cliff notes. I'm sure that as time goes, I'll end up posting more details in threads where they're relevant.
