Yeah, that's the one I thought it was.
My parents and LadyTango's parents split the costs of our wedding, so I don't have the exact figures, but I think we ended up at about $15k after everything was all done. I think we had about 200 people at the dinner/reception. Initially, I was trying to stay under $10k, but our parents pushed hard for a few additions that we'd initially decided to skip on in order to keep costs contained. In the end, it came down to LadyTango and I agreeing that 1) The part that *we* are really concerned about is the sacrament and the Mass, which we planned entirely on our own and brought in experienced lay ministers to handle the various roles (lectors, musicians, Eucharistic ministers, etc) and the presider was the pastor of the parish we'd grown up at and had known us since we were in High School and 2) If our parents want to spend extra money on the party afterward, that's fine.
Then again, I should've known that a dry reception was simply not going to happen when a German-Irish-Catholic family and Polis-Irish-Catholic family got together.
